About Betsy Peterson

As a Professional Organizer, Betsy is sensitive to the very personal nature of her work, and approaches each project with attention to the special needs of each client and an unwavering standard of confidentiality and trust. “Assisting people with solving organizing problems is what I do best and I am delighted that I can offer these services to our community.”

As a Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist, Betsy is able to put her talents to use helping older adults and their families with moving.  She provides positive, constructive support and guidance through all aspects of the relocation and transition process.  Everyone is different and Betsy helps keep what would otherwise be an overwhelming task in perspective and designed to best suit the needs of the client.  As one out of town, adult child wrote,  "Thank you so much, we could not have done this move without you-and it gives us such peace of mind knowing that you are there for her. "

Betsy provides her clients with services that come naturally to her. Her professional and personal experiences have prepared her well. In addition to her on-going organizational training, her experience as a project manager for a commercial furnishing firm, condominium and apartment manager and leasing agent as well as experience in real-estate renovation, gave her the knowledge and insight about how to stay organized. Her experience as a teacher, group travel consultant and service in a leadership capacity with several community organizations provides her with the background to work effectively with groups and individuals to achieve success.

She is also the author of a number of articles on this subject, as well as conducting group training and public speaking on the topics of organizing, aging in place, relocation, downsizing, and avoiding transition trauma.

Betsy is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO).  She is a Certified Relocation and Transition specialist (CRTS) and a member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM).  Betsy is a member of the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization (NSGCD) and Altrusa International. Betsy is a Preferred Provider for One Call Club for Seniors of Knoxville and a member of the Knoxville Senior Resource Network.  Space and Time is fully licensed and insured.
